Tag Facebook pages in pictures

Facebook releases new features, it is now possible also to tag Facebook pages in pictures, not only persons. Facebook is becoming more and more friendly to companies, and this will help a little. But don’t you think this will be miss-used a lot?

How to tag Facebook pages in pictures?

It works the same way as tagging people does. You just click “tag photo” and after that you start writing the name of the page. The usual dropdown box appears and you can select your page. Facebook always makes things easy to do, that’s a really good thing. Of course you have to like the Facebook page before you can tag it.

What could the feature be used for?

I can think about some things where tagging a Facebook page would work very well:

  • In competitions, take a photo of you and a product, and tag the product page in the picture.
  • Celebrities and famous people, bloggers and gurus that have fan-pages for their person could tag themselves in other peoples pictures. Other people that likes them can tag the celeb that they met at a concert and are posing with in a photo.
  • In party-photos with a lot of people, you could not tag only the people, but also the brands of their clothes, their haircut, the music that comes from the stereo, and what they are eating and drinking.
  • What more? You tell me!

One thing is sure, Facebook pictures and photos will be tagged like crazy now, at least by me!

Risks with tagging Facebook pages in pictures

So, are there any risks coming with this new feature? I thought about spam straight away when I heard about this, I think that a lot of Farmville, Justin Bieber, and Mafia wars pages will start running around Facebook and start tagging themselves in a lot of other pages and users pictures. What good or bad do you think that the tagging of Facebook pages can be used for? Drop your ideas in the comment field below!
